Elderly Crossing - Day 21 - Happy Birthday USA
Waterton to Cranbrook - 322km

After a brief visit and walk along Cameron Lake we left the Waterton area heading west to BC with no critical destination in mind.

Cameron Lake is a small glacier fed lake.
Snow banks come right to the water's edge

Canoes shadowed us as we walked the path along the western shore.
These Calgarians originated from Quebec and New Brunswick.
We told them about douglas.ca and they looked it up and responded as follows:

"We just wanted to let you know our names: Chantal and Marc. The folks in the canoe behind ours are Chantal's cousin Diane, and her husband Claude as well as her Seeing-eye-dog Madoussa. We had a great time camping camping in Waterton despite the arctic weather. Some of the snow on your pictures of Cameron lake was freshly fallen from the day before."

Thanks for the response. Love the part about the dog. Way to go Diane. I noticed how carefully you disembarked from the canoe but I had no idea.

Traffic waits patiently while the protected wildlife passes by.

A large wind turbine project.

The famous Frank Slide
The side of a mountain collapsed on a small town.

Called cousin Neil and son Jock in Cranbrook and they joined us for supper.

Jock gave us a bagpipe demonstration and showed the gold and bronze medals he won at last summers Canmore Highland Games.
